    Blinn SBDC offers basic QuickBooks course
    All-day workshop teaches small business owners to get the most from their desktop accounting software
     
    The Blinn College Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host a basic QuickBooks course Thursday, May 24, to teach small business owners to get the most out of their desktop accounting software.

    The course will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an hour off for lunch, and is designed specifically to provide hands-on experience for QuickBooks desktop version users. Topics include setting up your records, invoices, deposits and checks, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation, and running reports. Each attendee will have a desktop computer to use during the course and be provided reference materials to keep.

    The workshop will be held at the A.W. Hodde, Jr. Technical Education Center located at 2910 S. Blue Bell Road. Registration is $100 per person and is available at www.blinn.edu/sbdc. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required.

    The class will be taught by Julie Gilmer, CPA and certified QuickBooks Pro advisor.
    The Blinn College SBDC is a service provider of the University of Houston (UH) Texas Gulf Coast SBDC Network, a business advising and training program serving 32 counties in Southeast Texas. The UH Texas Gulf Coast SBDC Network is a program of the UH Bauer College of Business and a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration. The SBDC is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U. S. Small Business Administration.
